This year more than 1.2 million people around the world will be diagnosed with breast cancer. More than 400,000 of them will not survive the ravages of this terrible disease. While the numbers are bleak, there is reason to be hopeful. Thanks to the tireless efforts of researchers, breast cancer can be detected earlier and treated more successfully than ever before.
